In 2024, Burhouse Construction launched their inaugural bursary event, which was a resounding success providing opportunities for children through over £15,000 of financial support, in order for them to pursue their aspirations, achieve their goals and reach their potential. In 2025, we are planning for the bursary to surpass what was achieved last year and support even more children in the pursuit of their dreams.
The bursary can be used for almost anything including (but not limited to) participating in sports, additional academic support, performing arts or any other genuine need for grant support. We are proud to be able to offer this support and give back to children so that financial constraints don’t impact their future development.
How do you apply for the bursary?
The Burhouse Bursary officially opens its application process on Friday 20th December 2024.
Applicants can submit their application in one of the following ways:

Note: We are looking for unique and honest applications of true need for grant support.
Please note that we will accept bursary applications from schools, trusts, sports clubs and the like however applications for these organisations must display extraordinary need to be successful.
Applicants are to send the video to the email address: bursary@burhouseconstruction.co.uk
Parents/Guardians to complete a form granting permission of storage of data, usage of videos in marketing/PR and context around the application made by the child alongside brief financial substantiation to the grant request amounts. This is to be declared as submitted alongside the email containing the video. Please note that non-submission of this form will void the application.

All applications that are received, must follow the following rules and criteria for selection.
Burhouse Construction are offering the grant funding to children and organisations who host children who reside in the areas in which they have been engaged to undertake construction work in schools.
The dates issued below may be subject to change so please check back regularly. If dates do change from the below, we will issue an update on our social media channels and website.
The awards evening in Doncaster (exact location and date to be confirmed) commencing at approximately 6pm. The event will be free for all those attending other than any additional drinks outside of the below package. Guests will be asked to arrive no later than 5.45pm as the awards for grants will be undertaken immediately. The current itinerary for the evening will be:
Dress code will be ‘smart’. Children are free to attend in clothes that are comfortable for them and School uniforms can be worn if desired.
We would ask any parent/guardian bringing a child to the event to please ensure that your child stays to an appropriate time for them and that this is communicated to us prior to the event so that we can make any necessary arrangements for you.
Burhouse will be inviting a number of local governance leaders, school trust leaders and business partners to the event (alongside grant winners and their families) however there are a number of places available for individuals to apply for a place at the event. Please note that places are limited and we cannot guarantee a place for everybody who may apply.

The applications that are received will be reviewed and shortlisted by a Bursary Committee made up of Burhouse Directors; Andy Burrows and Greg Houseman alongside a panel of other construction professionals and benefactors who will be announced on social media channels in the coming weeks/months. Burhouse Construction retain the right to withdraw funding granted should we suspect any claim is fraudulent or is not being used for the purposes which it was given. Parents/Guardians may need to provide evidence to support grant funding either prior to grant being issued, or retrospectively.
